James and Kade were amazing in getting my back sorted.I was in a lot of pain. After two sessions of massage and dry-needling, plus doing the exercises they prescribed, I was pain-free and running again in 3 days.I'm a big fan of dry-needling.I really liked the fact that they delivered the technical explanation of the muscles and joints and how best to heal them while they "operated". A great practise and always a warm welcome.Marina always gets to the route of the problem, If you have a niggle or an ache then she will locate it and work it out.My monthly 30 minute sessions in there give me the results so I can keep very active being in my late 50's.I do 4-5 45 min sessions of strongfit and liftfit a week which are pretty intense. Marina makes this happen with her magic.Go along to the Lab and it will become a must do thing if you want to keep moving. Love the work Marina & thank you.

James started Physio and Exercise Lab after many years working in private practice; gaining experience in a vast range of sports and musculoskeletal injuries, post-operative orthopaedic rehabilitation, and hydrotherapy. He enjoys treating a variety of conditions coming through the clinic and is skilled in dealing with neck and; back pain, upper and lower limb injuries, vertigo and concussion, functional gym-based strengthening, as well as exercise/load prescription and training planning.

Kade has joined Physio and Exercise Lab after working at Albany Health Campus as an inpatient and outpatient Physiotherapist. Whilst working in Albany Kade developed a passion for treating patients with musculoskeletal and neurological deficits and decided to move back to Perth to pursue a career in private practice physiotherapy. Through his time at Albany Health Campus, Kade gained experience dealing in pre and post-operative rehabilitation, and is skilled in treating neck and back, as well as upper and lower limb musculoskeletal conditions.

Yes. Back pain is one of the most common conditions we treat. Physiotherapy helps reduce pain, restore movement, and support long-term recovery.

Wear something comfortable that allows you to move freely — activewear or loose-fitting clothes are ideal so we can assess your movement and provide treatment.

It’s unlikely. Some exercises may cause temporary discomfort, but your physio will guide you carefully to avoid aggravating your symptoms.

Sometimes — if appropriate for your condition. But physios also use many other techniques like massage, dry needling, and guided exercises.

Physiotherapy takes a whole-body, evidence-based approach. We don’t just treat symptoms — we help you understand the cause, restore movement, and build long-term strength. Treatment includes hands-on care, exercise rehab, and practical education tailored to your lifestyle. For most back pain, physio offers a more active and sustainable solution.

Most people feel a difference within 1–3 sessions. Ongoing care may continue for a few weeks depending on the severity and cause of your pain.

There are no cancellation fees or 24-hour notice requirements. Just give us a call if you can’t make it to your appointment.

A doctor’s referral is typically not required to visit us unless your condition is associated with Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Injury, Veterans Affairs, or a Medicare Enhanced Primary Care plan. In most cases, you can directly schedule an appointment as all our physiotherapists are primary contact practitioners, capable of providing comprehensive care without the need for a referral.

To access physiotherapy services through Medicare, you must have a referral from your GP under the Chronic Disease Management Plan, often referred to as an Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC). This plan is required for Medicare coverage when seeing a physiotherapist.
